{"id":1405,"date":"2011-09-18T21:30:19","date_gmt":"2011-09-19T04:30:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/westfamilyblog.com\/?p=1405"},"modified":"2012-03-04T13:12:52","modified_gmt":"2012-03-04T21:12:52","slug":"family-camping-in-the-redwoods","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/westfamilyblog.com\/?p=1405","title":{"rendered":"Family Camping in the Redwoods"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In September, we took our second annual family trip to camp in the coastal redwoods of California at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.parks.ca.gov\/default.asp?page_id=540\">Big Basin State Park<\/a> in the nearby <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Santa_Cruz_Mountains\">Santa Cruz Mountains<\/a>. &nbsp;We had a great gang of kids under 5 sprinting around the redwoods, climbing on felled trees, roasting marshmallows, and playing in tents.  We even went on a long hike together, with Claire walking almost four miles!
