{"id":168,"date":"2008-09-09T22:51:31","date_gmt":"2008-09-10T05:51:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/westfamilyblog.com\/?p=168"},"modified":"2008-09-09T22:51:31","modified_gmt":"2008-09-10T05:51:31","slug":"taiwan-trip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/westfamilyblog.com\/?p=168","title":{"rendered":"Taiwan trip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently returned from a trip with my Tetra Tech friend Chih-fang (Claire&#8217;s \u5fd7\u82b3\u963f\u59e8) to visit her family in Taiwan. We started off with a day in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Taipei\">Taipei<\/a>, then headed south on the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Taiwan_High_Speed_Rail\">high speed rail<\/a> to visit her sisters and brother in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kaohsiung\">Kaohsiung<\/a> and her parents in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Meinong,_Kaohsiung\">Meinong<\/a>. We also took a two-day trip to the east coast of the island, to a beautiful <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rift_valley\">rift valley<\/a>. We stayed in the town of Yuli, where Chih-fang\u2019s cousin Jamie teaches in a primary school. Here, we visited <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Yushan_National_Park\">Yushan National Park<\/a> and a mountainside covered in lilies. Of course, throughout the trip we managed to enjoy one of my favorite Taiwanese delicacies, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bubble_tea\">bubble tea (\u73cd\u73e0\u5976\u8336)<\/a>.
