{"id":201,"date":"2008-10-23T22:12:14","date_gmt":"2008-10-24T05:12:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/westfamilyblog.com\/?p=201"},"modified":"2011-11-13T22:46:34","modified_gmt":"2011-11-14T06:46:34","slug":"beach-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/westfamilyblog.com\/?p=201","title":{"rendered":"Beach weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We took a quick long weekend over <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Columbus_Day\">Columbus Day<\/a> to the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sonoma_County,_California\">Sonoma County<\/a> coast, renting a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vrbo.com\/174934\">house<\/a> in a small town called <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jenner,_California\">Jenner<\/a> where the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Russian_River_(California)\">Russian River<\/a> meets the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pacific_Ocean\">Pacific<\/a>.  Our friends John and Deanna brought their 4-month old daughter Marlow to stay with us, and we were all lucky to have some unusually clear and warm Northern California coastal weather.\u00a0 Highlights included walking on the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bodega_Head\">bluffs<\/a> above <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bodega_Bay\">Bodega Bay<\/a> (featured in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Alfred_Hitchcock\">Hitchcock&#8217;s<\/a> <em><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Birds_(film)\">The Birds<\/a><\/em>), hiking the Coast Vista Trail, Claire sipping her first (decaf) latte, playing on the beach, and relaxing around our house.
