{"id":856,"date":"2010-04-22T02:49:25","date_gmt":"2010-04-22T09:49:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/westfamilyblog.com\/?p=856"},"modified":"2011-11-13T22:47:14","modified_gmt":"2011-11-14T06:47:14","slug":"san-sebastian%e2%80%8e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/westfamilyblog.com\/?p=856","title":{"rendered":"San Sebasti\u00e1n\u200e"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After Madrid, we headed north for three days in San Sebasti\u00e1n\u200e, a resort town on the Atlantic coast of Spain just across the border from Biarritz. \u00a0We rented\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.emyrent.com\/en_meninasapartment.php\">a nice apartment<\/a> in the center of town, near the beach and just 10 minutes walk to the old city.\u00a0This is the region of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Basque_people\">Basque<\/a> people, whose\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Basque_language\">language<\/a> is quite different from Spanish and whose food is magnificent especially\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pincho\"><em>pintxos<\/em><\/a>, a version of\u00a0<em>tapas<\/em> that is just 2-3 bites each serving. Our highlight restaurant was\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.barzeruko.com\/\">Zeruko<\/a>, which had the most amazing pintxos with many layers of texture (e.g. a crunchy potato-chip like cup holding savory spiced meat with a creamy soft-fried quail egg on top).
