Out from under

We’ve finally escaped the clutches of the Great European Ash Cloud of 2010 and just touched down at Washington Dulles. Some seats opened up on a flight out of Madrid today, so we left Sevilla yesterday and headed there rather than flying out of Lisbon tomorrow. We should be home later tonight at last!

  1. Home at last! Or almost! It was the trip of a lifetime for me to be able to be with you for most of your vacation in Spain. Claire and Juliet were so delightful and fun to see in all the various cities and “homes” we stayed in. And to see Juliet walking and trying to keep up with Claire is just so amazing!

I have revisited all our fun and all our locations this past week since I have been back home, looking at the blog entries. What a blessing to have been able to experience them first hand and then again in the photos and comments! How fortunate is that?

    Love, Grandma Judy

  2. Congratulations! What an adventure.

After all this we have to admit that it was possibly all down to a simple misunderstanding. Following the bank crashes in Iceland some months ago when many Europeans lost considerable amounts of money they thought was secure in Icelandic banks, governments formally asked Iceland for their cash back – it seems that it must have been lost in translation and they sent us their ash instead!!!!

    Ouch – Sorry about that.
