Playdate with Anna

Yesterday I had a playdate with Anna, who is a friend we visited in Malaysia. She just moved back last week. I visited her in Malaysia in April.

Here are some things we did. We went on the slack line, we went on the swings, and we played in the fort we made.

For the fort, we had a couple of ideas. Our ideas were…..We could make one in the living room with chairs and blankets. We could make one in our bedroom with blankets and our beds. Last but not least…we could make one in the playroom! We decided to make a fort in our bedroom.

Near the end, Anna’s dad found a wasp nest. It freaked me out. In the end Anna’s dad sprayed the wasps and they fell.

My upcoming road trip

This weekend I am going to Bend, Oregon to see my aunt Mona with my sister and my dad. The drive is going to be eight hours long. On the way down we might drive down the coast and stay at a hotel on Saturday night. On the drive I am going to follow the seventh Harry Potter audiobook on my kindle. I hope we get to have In n Out burger for lunch.  At In n Out burger I get a cheeseburger and a drink. Sometimes I get a milkshake. I can not wait to see my aunt Mona’s new place in Bend. I am thrilled to go to Bend. I wonder what I am going to see on the drive up to Bend!

Summer in the garage.

While my sister and I were at camp, our parents cleaned up the garage. They made a painting table, so my sister and I could paint whenever we wanted. We also got a comfy chair from our neighbors who were giving it away for free.

Our parents plugged in an old refrigerator and stocked it up with goodies. Our parents let us have one snack, one drink, and one treat each day we played outside. We could have two treats if we really wanted to. Later in the summer our Dad made it so we could listen to music in the garage.

When I am in the garage I feel happy and relaxed. Come to my house so you can see the garage!

Audition

For our audition, we sang part of “My Favorite Things” and one line that Maria says in the play. Here is the first line of “My Favorite Things”: “When the dog bites.” You also can say other lines if asked. We auditioned in the theater. We sat on the stage which was at the back of the theater. There was a piano that played the song with you. The seats were green like the color of grass. We auditioned individually. I felt nervous and scared to audition.

I am not going to tell you what part I got because I want it to be a surprise. My sister got the part of a servant.  The goats are the youngest campers and they are called junior campers. Come to the show so you can see the cute goats!

Birthday in Tahoe

During the family reunion in Tahoe I had my birthday. I got hair chalk, a conversation game, an American girl doll outfit, and some pairs of earrings. Later that day, we had dinner. My mom brought the cake to dinner. For dinner we had fish tacos. After dinner we made stuff with clay. Alice made the word “Claire” out of clay. Lucy made me out of clay. Then it was time to eat cake. After everyone sang happy birhday to me, we ate the cake. Then Bryson put on a magic and trick show. Then June gave me a mermaid kit and a face paint kit. Then we went back to where we were staying, and went to bed. I was thrilled to celebrate my birthday with my family!

The Sound of Music

Yesterday at Hope Musical Theater summer camp, our homework was to bring in a fact about the musical “The Sound of Music” or the real Von Trap family. I had to listen to the soundtracks of “The Sound of Music” and “Sister Act”.

For my facts I wrote: The musical’s original title was “The Singing Heart”. Also, original audience members were totally convinced that “Edelweiss” was an actual Austrian folk song. Kym Karath, who played little Gretl, was already a film vet when she auditioned for the Sound of Music. She was feeling so adult that, for her audition, she sang “Sixteen Going on Seventeen.” She was five.

Hope Musical theater

Hope Musical Theater (HMT) is a two week musical camp. At HMT you learn how to put on a musical in just two weeks. The first day you audition for a part and the last day is show day. In between you practice the scenes that are in the musical. This year’s musical is the Sound of Music. On the first day of camp you get a shirt that says Hope Musical Theater. You have to wear the shirt every day of camp. Every year the musical changes. There is a a morning session that goes from nine to twelve. The afternoon session goes from one to four. You can also be in both the morning and the afternoon session. I am in the morning session. I am very excited to be in the musical the Sound of Music. Stay tuned to find out what part I get!

The toy sale

Today my family had a toy sale at the end of our driveway. I thought we were going to have twenty customers come because that is how many came to our last toy sale. We have had about six groups of customers, so far. It is in the summer time, so that’s why I think we had fewer than expected customers.

The first thing we sold was random duplo pieces. We sold it five after eight.

Besides toy we gave out free lemonade to people who brought toys from us. Since about six people came, we got to have most of the lemonade to ourselves!

Preparing  for toy and book sale

This Sunday we are going to have a yard sale. This is how we prepared for the yard sale.

First we sorted the stuff in the playroom. Then we sorted the stuff in the garage into bins by different prices. The stuff  we sorted in the playroom we put in the bins in the garage. The prices were free, one, two, five and ten dollars. The free bin  had small toys in it. In the one dollar bin, there were  small lego sets and a ton of other toys. In the two dollar bin, there were wooden dolls and a bunch of other fun toys. In the five dollar bin, there were games and puzzles.

I hope we sell all of the stuff and make about 80 dollars. I also hope that tons of people come to get all of theses  toys.

A day of cooking

Yesterday my sister and I made breakfast, lunch, and dinner for our parents.

For breakfast, we made yogurt parfaits. You could choose from granola, blueberries, strawberries, and whipped cream. We also had banana bread that we made the day before. For lunch, we made dino nuggets and peeled carrots. For dinner, we made microwave Mac & Cheese and scrambled eggs.

One funny moment was, when I was cutting the cheese packet for the Mac & Cheese and  Juliet yelled , “That’s my job!” We agreed that I was going to do the scrambled eggs, so I should have let her do it.
