Yesterday at Hope Musical Theater summer camp, our homework was to bring in a fact about the musical “The Sound of Music” or the real Von Trap family. I had to listen to the soundtracks of “The Sound of Music” and “Sister Act”.
For my facts I wrote: The musical’s original title was “The Singing Heart”. Also, original audience members were totally convinced that “Edelweiss” was an actual Austrian folk song. Kym Karath, who played little Gretl, was already a film vet when she auditioned for the Sound of Music. She was feeling so adult that, for her audition, she sang “Sixteen Going on Seventeen.” She was five.
Very interesting, Juliet! I’m sure enjoying your blog.
Beautifully written, Juliet! When you are 16, going on 17, you will love to read your former posts and remember fun summers! So proud of you!
