This is check-up week, and Juliet had hers at 18-months today. Everything is also in good shape. She’s 32.5″ tall (76th percentile, a bit lower than 79th percentile when she was 30″ at 12-months) and 25 pounds 12.5 oz (72nd percentile, also less than 83rd percentile when she was 23 lbs, 5 oz last time). At her 18-month appointment, Claire was 99th percentile in height and 82nd in weight.

Claire’s 3-year check-up
For the statistics hounds out there, Claire had her 3rd birthday check-up today. Everything is in good shape. She’s 40 1/2″ tall (98th percentile, about the same as 99th percentile when she was 37″ a year ago) and 34 pounds 8 ounces (80th percentile, up a bit from 77th percentile last time). She even had her first blood pressure check and a vision test!
Juliet’s 1st Birthday
We celebrated Juliet’s first birthday a few weeks ago, with a small group of friends, a special visit from Grandma Judy, some presents, and of course chocolate cupcakes. At her one-year check, Juliet weighed in at 23 pound 5 oz (83rd percentile, about the same as 82nd percentile when she was 20 lbs, 12.75 oz at nine-months) and measured 30″ tall (79th percentile, a bit lower than 82nd percentile when she was 28.5″ last time). At her 12-month appointment, Claire was 99th percentile in height and 76th in weight.
Juliet at 9 months
We took Juliet for her 9-month checkup this morning. Everything looks great. At 28.5″, she is at the 82nd percentile (down slightly from her 89th percentile at 6 months). At 20 lbs, 12.75 oz, she’s also at the 82nd percentile (up from 74th three months ago) so seems to be growing more out than up. At her 9-month appointment, Claire was 96th percentile in height and 85th in weight.
Juliet at 6 months
We took Juliet for her 6-month checkup this morning. Everything looks great. At 27″, she is at the 89th percentile (about the same as her 91st percentile at 4 months). At 17 lbs, 3.5 oz, she’s at the 74th percentile (up from 66th two months ago, as evidenced by the additional folds of baby fat on her thighs!). At her 6-month appointment, Claire was 96th percentile in height and 80th in weight.
Claire’s 2nd birthday
Claire got together with a few of her friends in late June to celebrate both her birthday and her friend Riley’s in our backyard with lots of cupcakes, pushtoys, and sidewalk chalk. Also, for the statistics hounds out there, at her two-year checkup Claire was 37″ tall (99th percentile, same as 6 months ago) and 29 pounds (77th percentile, a bit less than 82nd percentile last time). Grandma Judy visit
Grandma Judy visited us for five days last week. Among other things, Judy joined us for Juliet’s 4-month checkup. At 25.5″, Juliet is at the 91st percentile in height (compared to 70th percentile at 2-months) and a quarter-inch taller than Claire was at 4 months, so it looks like we’ve got another Amazon on our hands. At 14 lbs, 4 oz, she’s in the 66th percentile in weight down slightly from 67th last time and exactly even with where Claire was at that age. Other highlights included Claire and Juliet enjoying long walks with grandma (including three over the course of just one day), early presents for Claire’s second birthday, the two girls sitting together on their “potties” looking out at the backyard, and a barbeque dinner where Claire ate mostly ketchup. Juliet's 2-month checkup
We took Juliet for her 2-month checkup on Friday. She passed her exam with flying colors. At 23″, she is at the 70th percentile in height (compared to 56th percentile at 1-month). At 11 lbs, 11 oz, she’s in the 67th percentile in weight up from 63rd a month ago.
Happy Valentine's Day
Claire and Juliet want to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day. To celebrate, we’ve got some pictures of the past few days including Juliet’s arrival home, Claire opening the kid-sized guitar Juliet gave her as a thank you for being such a great big sister, Grandma Judy entertaining Claire, Juliet the lap baby with Grandma and me, and the girls’ first photoshoot together. Also this week Juliet had her first pediatrician appointment. She’s 20 3/4 inches (83rd percentile), 8 lbs, 1 oz (58th percentile), with a 36.5cm head (78th percentile). It's a girl!
Our beautiful baby joined us at 8:31am this morning. 8 lbs, 9 oz., 20 inches. She and Katherine are both doing great after an uneventful c-section. Picture below. More details and photos to follow.
